What makes HAIR Los Angeles special?
We pride ourselves on our diverse skill set, and our ability to take your hair to seemingly unachievable heights. Our stylists are experienced in many different services, textures, and desires. We specialize in taking dark tones to blonde with innovative bleaching techniques and intensive care for the integrity of the hair. Blondes and brunettes- we will give you natural upgrades that will turn heads around the world. Creative color is another house speciality- we love showing our clients the power of color. Dramatic length changes, hues that you’ve never seen on another person- we do that on the regular. If we can’t do it- it probably can’t be done :) And that’s why you’ve found us.
Do you do consultations?
Yes- you can book one here. Consultations are a great way for us to collaborate on your #hairgoals. Seeing the integrity of your hair before jumping into large scale color corrections allows us to accurately communicate what your hair will be able to handle.
I want to have colorful hair. Where do I start?
Unless your hair is already really light, you'll need to get a bleach and tone, and then add on a custom creative color. We recommend booking both when starting with creative color for the first time.

We offer free consultations for new clients to receive firm pricing and collaborate on their hair goals. Color services and the pricing associated can vary depending on hair length, thickness, integrity, and the desired requests of the client.
Appointments can be booked on hairlosangeles.com or by calling 323-685-8118 during business hours. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call the front of house at 323-685-8118 at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Appointments missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a 50% of service cancellation fee. We do not accept late notice or cancellations via email or text. Clients are required to provide a valid credit card to secure their appointment and will be used to incur any fees due to cancellations. Prices are subject to change. Our staff is happy to answer any questions directly, so don’t be shy to call!
How often should I come in for appointments?
We recommend that color clients come in every 6 weeks to enhance their hue. We color hair with the fadeout in mind, and part of the fun of having color is the fact that you can have many different hues as the initial tone fades with wash. Color clients of Daniel Moon that want full vibrancy can request a custom color conditioner that will deposit that color in their hair during the course of the grow out. Blondes with roots should come in every 6-8 weeks. Natural blondes, brunettes, and balayage clients can come when they please- we have clients that come anywhere from 3-6 months of grow out.
How should I maintain my hair in between appointments?
We specialize in conditioning and revitalization treatments. Routine salon treatments will do wonders for your- they should be in your beauty routine like a regular mani/pedi. We recommend use of silk pillowcases and scrunchies to avoid damage. Our favorites are from Slip. Your hair is part of your DNA- treat yourself well with regular hydration and consult your physicians to create a healthy vitamin plan- your entire body, and your hair will thank you!
What’s your cancellation policy?
Out of respect for everyone’s schedule, we require 24 hour notice for cancellations. Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hour notice will be charged 50% of the service value.
Do you do house calls/special event styling?

When was Major Moonshine founded?
Major Moonshine was founded in Los Angeles in 2013 by Daniel Moon. Known for being the first colorist to bring rainbow hair to celebrities in Hollywood, Daniel wanted to provide a product that allowed people to experience the magic of hair color without the commitment of a major change. Major Moonshine was created to be purposely high density in this way- so that you can truly make a Major change.

How is Major Moonshine used?
Major Moonshine can be used on hair and body. To ensure an even application and maximize shine, apply on dry hair with an application brush. Sparkle will depend on amount used - heavier quantities will give a major reflection, while a lighter quantity will provide more of a twinkle. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact with eyes occurs rinse immediately with water.
What is in Major Moonshine?
Major Moonshine is a glitter gel made with cosmetic grade glitter. Its high-density formula offers maximum color payoff for the wearer.
Ingredients: water, vpNa, copolymer, isopropyl alcohol, carboner, sorbitol, propylene glycol, punica granatum extract, piper nigrum (black pepper) seed extract, lactic acid, mak acid, aminomethyl propanol, hydrolyzed yeast, phenylpropanol, peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, tetrasodium edta, glycerin, pca, tartaric acid, pyruvic acid, glycolic acid, citric frag acid, methylisothiazolinone, ranceiparium, limonene, polyester glitter.
How long does Major Moonshine last?
Because of the unique formulation of Major Moonshine and its first of its kind gel concentration, Major Moonshine will stay in your hair or on your body until removal. We often have customers relay how they put it on for a festival or a party and it was still fully intact 8 to 10 hours later. That said, it’s very friendly for removal; it can even be used for balayage techniques as its consistency allows it to remain exactly where you put it and not excessively travel to other parts of your hair and skin. Major Moonshine and be easily removed with shampoo or soap and warm water.
Do you test on animals?
We love animals! No animal testing is involved in the making of any products by HAIR Los Angeles and Major Moonshine.
Where are Major Aprons made?
Major Aprons are ethically made in Los Angeles. Each individual supplier has been chosen by HAIR for its fair and safe practices.
Can I sell Major Moonshine and HAIR Merch?

Ground shipping for orders $50.00 and over- FREE
Ground shipping for orders under $50.00- $7.00
Ground shipping to Canada- $20.00
Ground shipping to all other countries- $30.00
Orders are typically processed within two to three business days. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be processed the following Monday. Most orders are processed with USPS Priority Mail- 3 days or less shipping service.
After an order is placed, an order confirmation email is sent to the email address provided during order placement that includes the order number and order details. Once an order confirmation is received it means your order is being processed and cannot be canceled. A shipment confirmation email is sent once the order ships from the fulfillment center, including shipping tracking number and all of the order details.
Modifications and cancellations cannot be applied once an order has been submitted. For questions on orders, including cancellations, please email email@example.com.
Orders are shipped from our fulfillment center. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number from USPS. USPS offers the ability to have text updates on domestic packages through USPS.com. International shipments are shipped with signature required to ensure delivery.
We have a 14-day return policy. Items must be in unused condition and buyer’s are responsible for their own return shipping costs. See the full details on our Return Policy page.
Promo codes must be entered before placing order at checkout. Codes can only be used once per order and cannot be added after the order has been placed. Expired codes cannot be redeemed.
